Peru tour Day 1: Flight from USA to Lima.

Take off on your flight (probably and overnight) from USA to Lima, Peru.

A representative of Kaypi Peru Tours will pick you up from the airport and take you to the hotel in Lima.

Peru tour Day 2: City Tour in Lima.

After breakfast, you will embark on a city tour of Lima, stopping at the following landmarks:

Huaca Pucllana, the Historic Center of Lima, the Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace and the Archbishop’s Palace, the Cathedral of Lima, City Hall, the Church of San Francisco, and modern Lima. At the end of the tour, you’ll have the afternoon at leisure.

Peru tour Day 3: Flight to Arequipa.

In the morning, you’ll be taken to the airport to catch a flight bound for Arequipa. When you arrive, Kaypi tour representative will meet you and bring you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to spend as you please.

Peru tour Day 4: On the way to the Colca Canyon.

Pick up at 8:00 am and travel by bus, approximately 4 hours including stops along the way – beautiful landscapes and scenery. You will arrive at Chivay and have time to settle in to your hotel.

In the afternoon you can go to the thermal baths – 3 km from Chivay (entrance– not included in tour price).

Peru tour Day 5: Colca canyon – Condors – Puno.

Breakfast and then leave the hotel to go to Cruz Del Condor – the point where you can see the depth and beauty of Colca Canyon and where, hopefully, you will see Condors. Return in direction of Chivay, visiting a few small villages on the way. Lunch in Chivay in the afternoon and then begin journey to Puno. Once you arrive in Puno (Folklore capital) you will be taken to the hotel where you will stay the night.

At night, keep to the main, lit areas – the main street will be obvious and there are lots of little restaurants there.

Peru tour Day 6: Uros floating islands and overnight in a local house.

Between 7.40 am and 8 am Transfer from the hotel to the port and by motor boat we take you to one of the legendary Uros Islands where you can observe the lives of the Uros people who live on floating reed islands, some only 20 meters in length. After a beautiful 3hr boat ride we reach Amantani Island where we will break into smaller groups to stay with the local families.

You have the opportunity to trek to the top of the mountain (4150 m.a.s.l) to see the Temples of the Pachamama and Pachatata and enjoy the traditional customs of the island people. Food and authentic music prepared and performed by your designated family meals’ lunch, dinner with Accommodation: rustic accommodation with family.

Peru tour Day 7: Taquile natural island – Puno.

After breakfast we take a short boat ride to the neighboring Taquile Island, where we will tour around the ruins and visit these beautiful people, world famous for their intricate and fascinating weavings, after lunch we take the return trip to Puno. Arrival in the afternoon and transfer back to your hotel approx. 4 pm.

Day 8: Touristic bus from Puno to Cusco.

We will pick you up at 7:10am and take you to the bus station to take bus to Cusco. This is a really nice bus trip that is more like a tour – it stops at four interesting sites along the way where you have guided tours:

Pukara: This is the most important and oldest ceremonial center of the altiplano. There are interesting lite-sculptures and tombs. The trip also includes a really nice buffet lunch in Sicuani.

La Raya: This is the half-way point between Cusco and Puno and also the highest point (4335 meters above sea level). The landscapes here are stunning and typical Andean animals like the llama, alpaca and vicuña are common. It is also the geographic border between the two cultures – Quechua and Aymara.

Raqchi (Wiracocha God Temple): This was an Inca church of monumental dimensions; 100 meters long, 26 meters wide and 14 meters high. The temple is divided in two naves and each nave shows 11 giant columns – huge!

Andahuyalillas: Sistine chapel of South America: this church is one of the most beautiful examples of Andean popular religious art. (It leaves at 7.30am and arrives at about 5pm.) After your arrival a representative of Kaypi Peru tours will pick you up and take you to the hotel.

You will spend the night in Cusco

Peru tour Day 9: Walking tour in Cusco City.

Today we will have the full day to enjoy the mighty city of Cusco. The guide will pick you up around 9:00am to star with the walking tour in Cusco where you will find a different side of Cusco City.

 We will walk the following places:

  • Main Plaza (Main cathedral, colonial houses).
  • Plaza Nazarenas (convent of Nazarenas).
  • San Blas neighborhood.
  • 12 angles Stone.
  • San Pedro local market.

You will spend the night in Cusco

Day 10: On the way to Machupicchu.

We will pick you up at 6:45 am (to be confirmed) and take you to the train station – the train leaves at 8:20 am (time may change depending on availability and changes to timetable). After a 3:30 hours journey of majestic views you arrive at Aguas Calientes (Hot Springs Town) where you will spend the night. There will be plenty of time to relax if you want to have a hot bath in the natural springs!!!

You will spend the night in Machupichu

Day 11: Machupicchu tour and train back to Cusco.

You will have breakfast and then your Guide will pick you up from your hotel (5:40am). You will take the bus up to majestic Machu Picchu to catch the sunrise and then begin your walking tour (approximately 2 hours) with your guide, after this you can explore the mysterious city by yourselves. You can meet your guide in Aguas Calientes (it can be reached by bus or on foot) for lunch and to be given your train tickets back to Cusco.

Please leave enough time to catch your train. It is a 25 minute bus ride from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes and buses leave when they are full. It is also necessary to be at the train station in good time (20 minutes before).

Day 12: Flight from Cusco to Lima and from Lima to USA.

After all this amazing trip is time to say bye. We will take you to the airport for your flight from Cusco to Lima. And from Lima to USA
